Endeavoring to make a choice among organic and processed foods can be difficult at times, because both have advantages and disadvantages. It is also indecisive to determine the proper diet for each individual, since the preference of each individual varies, and nutrition is complicated.

Organic foods contain 50% more nutrients, minerals, and vitamins, than non-organic meals. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) strongly claims that the organic meat and dairy products do not contain any growth hormones or artificial ingredients. All the natural flavors in the whole foods are intended to make item tasty.

Unlike processed foods, organic foods consists of a surplus of nutritious ingredients such as 27% of Vitamin C, 21.1% of iron, 29.3% of magnesium, 13.6% of phosphorous, and heavy amounts of protein. Although organic meals appear to be the better alternatives, organic food is not sold at affordable rates most of the time, unlike processed products. Organic foods must meet the USDA’s standards, in order for it to be sold out in the markets because at times it might contain some form of yeast, which can harm one’s body system to a great extent.

Conventional foods are composed of artificial preservatives, chemicals, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. In order to prevent the development of germs, fungus, and pathogens, the preservatives are added to augment the life-span of the foods, inducing a variety of diseases to develop within the foods. Chemicals include growth hormones which are affecting the meats and dairy products, by providing high-quality meat and an enriched livestock. To facilitate the growing capacity of the foods, synthetic fertilizers are implanted. Thus, herbicides and pesticides are utilized for killing weeds and insects that would severely ravage the food. Similarly, the pesticide can immensely sabotage the neurological growth of children during birth, therefore it should be avoided at all costs.

Even though fat-free, reduced-sodium, and whole-wheat are processed foods they are made in a way that would fit a diet healthily. Ideally, the reason people are persistently eating processed foods is because they are cheap and convenient. The most amount of corpulence comes from the wheat and bread everyone is eating every day. It simply does not matter if the fast food is fresh, like In-N-Out, or extremely greasy, like McDonald’s or Jack-in-the-Box, they are all foods which can lead to obesity and several other medical conditions.

However, there is not a major difference between the appearance and the quality of the processed and organic foods. Conventional and organic foods differentiate only in the way in which they are produced. Hence, organic groceries often rotten quickly, since pesticide is not sprayed on them. The only way to avoid severe medical conditions and unhealthy conflicts, one must choose organic meals over conventional meals. Everyone must prepare some kind of dietary plan to lessen the amount of junk-food they consume each day. It is best to have a big breakfast, and a very light lunch and dinner.

According to the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey, state-wide, obesity ranks from 18.0% to 32.0%.

One’s lifestyle can only remain healthy, if they make healthy choices and make sure to have a nutritional diet daily. Too much of anything is bad for the body, so it is best to keep a proportionate balance in between everything.
