Claudia Lee, Zooey Magazine Claudia Lee is an actress and singer who hails from Indiana. She portrays Chloe Grace Moretz's new high school nemesis in "Kick-Ass 2," the sequel everyone is waiting to see on August 16, 2013! We had the pleasure of getting to know Claudia on her set for "This is Me."

Can you tell us maybe the earliest memory you have of why you wanted to become an actress? As a child I dreamed about being in the industry from a very young age. I would constantly ask my parents ‘How come I’m not on TV’ and ‘When are we going to move to Hollywood’. It’s been this constant notion of knowing my purpose in life, and how I always felt that this is something that I must do. I’m so blessed and I pinch myself daily because my dreams are coming true.

The Kick-Ass franchise has blown up since its first release, what was your experience like working on the film? My experience was life changing, and I truly mean that. I fell in love with this project from day one and have always been a fan of the first film and the comic books. I really wanted to create a character that no one has seen before. I spent a lot of time preparing and creating a back-story for “Brooke” and also separating her from all of the ‘mean girls’ that have graced the silver screen. My goal was to go into this film and blow everyone away. I haven’t yet seen the film so hopefully I accomplished my goal. Working with the crew and wonderful cast was such an amazing experience and I created friendships and memories that I will never forget.

Although the film is very action packed and explosive, is there any inspiring messages or thoughts you took away from Kick-Ass 2? There are many messages that this film brings to light, but one of the most important messages it holds is to be honest with yourself and the person that you portray. In “Kick-Ass 2”, Mindy is battling with being a teenager and the realization that she was robbed of her childhood. She lives this ‘double life’ and it’s difficult for her to confront reality in order to figure out who she truly is.

Now, picture a super power you would have. What would that be? A super power that I would love to posses would have to be flying or teleportation. It would save so much time and would be extremely easy to get out of any unwanted or awkward situation.

Besides acting, you’ve also released a song, titled “It Gets Better," which combats bullying in schools. What does the song mean to you and why did you get involved? I believe we all have experienced bullying in some form. As an artist I want to send a message through my work. At the time that I released the single, I was distraught by everything that was taking place in the news, and I wanted to have a voice. When I heard “It Gets Better” I knew I wanted to record the song because it spoke to me. It speaks about having hope and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s such an inspiring song and I thought it would be important to share my feelings on the issue.

If you could have any super hero name of your own choosing, what would it be and why? I never considered or ever thought of myself becoming a superhero. That’s just too much pressure and the injuries would be absolutely painful. But if Brooke were to become a ‘super villain’ I would choose the name ‘Black Widow’ because she’s a manipulative person. Also, Brooke has insecurities, which she covers up while manipulating others and getting her way. She is also meticulous and detailed and plans every move that she makes in life. I believe these actions are similar to a black widow because survival and success are constantly a priority.

If you could work alongside any other actor/actress, who would it be and why? Choosing one single person from the extensive list that I’ve created and still add to; is going to be difficult! I enjoy watching many artists and their approach on becoming a character. I believe the only way to learn and grow is to study the best. I would love to work with Meryl Streep. Her work is so powerful and it inspires me each time I watch her films. She captivates the audience with the choices that she makes, and that motivates me daily to create memorable choices as an actor.

If you could picture yourself in any TV series (past or present), what would it be and why? I would choose either “Married With Children” or “Full House”. I chose these two shows because they resemble the true meaning of family and love even though they are from the past. People watch their favorite shows because it allows them to escape. It gives them an hour or half hour to unwind and forget about their own lives. I believe these shows longevity and popularity were a combination of great writing and the portrayal of normal every day family life. “Surviving Jack” emulates that same message of family in a unique way and of course our writers are brilliant. I’m excited to see the audience reaction to the show and the way that people may reminisce about the 90s!

This is Me: Gregg Sulkin

Gregg Sulkin, Zooey Magazine
Name: Gregg Sulkin | Age: 21 | Occupation: Actor, “White Frog”

How old were you when you started acting?

I was thirteen, and this lovely adorable woman [points to mum] got me into it. Basically, it’s a long story, but to make a long story short, my cousin—who was dabbling in acting at the time—went to an audition and my mom was on the phone with her. So my mom said, ‘Ok, let’s see if we can get Gregg an audition’. And I couldn’t get one because I didn’t have an agent. I never wanted to be an actor, and having an agent was the last thing on my mind. So, I went through my cousin’s agent to get the audition. And then thankfully the director kind of saw something in me that I didn’t even know I had. I went back, over and over again, and eventually got the part. I am thankful for my mom because I loved it—I fell in love with being on sets and after that I became obsessed with being an actor. Plus I got to miss school, which was a lot of fun.

So being both a Film and TV actor, which type of work do you prefer, or maybe enjoy more?

I think I enjoy both. TV you’re maybe shooting an episode in seven to 10 days, and the turnaround is very quick because you may see that same episode maybe two months later. Whereas for film, you’re away for maybe three or four months, and it comes out a year and a half later. The hours depending on if you’re doing a sitcom, are very easy, which you know, if you have a family is amazing because you get to have a life as well as going to work. But then obviously if you work on a movie or 1 hour drama, you’re doing 13 hour days, so {laughs} it’s a lot of work. But at the end of the day, I don’t think I’ve ever been to set and thought that I was working. If someone said to me that for the rest of your life you’ll never have a day off, and you’ll be working forever, I’d take it in a heartbeat.

Having enjoyed your work so much, is there a specific character you would say is your favorite to play so far?

Not really. You know, you’re given a role and you try to adapt it to yourself, and you kind of create your own character; and then once you’ve done it you kind of let it go. I think for me, I’ve always been trying to focus on the next [role], but I couldn’t choose one. I’ve been blessed because a lot of the producers I’ve worked with have given me the freedom to create my own character rather than just say ‘this is concrete’ or ‘this is how it is.' So it’s nice collaborating with everyone.

Have you ever thought about the perfect role you’d like to play?

Yeah, there’s a few. James Bond, Spiderman—those two I’d love to play.

Gregg Sulkin, Zooey Magazine

I could see that in you. Why those characters specifically?

Why? {laughs} Because I think it’s every guys dream to hold guns...Not saying that we should hold guns on a daily basis!—but to be a badass, and you know, just beat up the bad guys. And obviously, Bond always has a really good looking woman on his arm. You wouldn’t have to pull my leg to get me to play that one.

And after James Bond of course, who inspires you as an actor or actress?

Probably [Leonardo] DiCaprio. Just because I think from a young age he was always seen as this good looking kid, and that’s what everyone knew him for. And now people respect him because he’s an unbelievable actor, and I like how his career has progressed in that direction. And he also has his own production company, and is pretty much his own boss. He’s taken it to the next level and I really like that.

So, beyond acting what other interests do you have? Any hobbies, obsessions?

Football—well my football, English football. Soccer. Yeah, that’s weird to say. But yeah I love soccer; I also go see movies, hang out with my buddies. My family and I are really close too.

You just turned 21! What were your plans?

Yeah, I threw a birthday celebration with some of my closest friends, so it’s [was] a lot of fun. And it’s really nice because I’ve been [in the U.S.] for 3 ½ years, and I’m [thankful for] a lot of people there because they’ve helped my experience in America become so amazing. So I’m glad that they [came]. {Smirks} And then I’m going to do the 21, typical Las Vegas trip, which I’m very excited about. But yeah, my brother, and my best friend who is a footballer back in London are coming out too. So I’m really excited, but I can’t believe I’m turning 21, it’s scary.

This is Me: Agnes Bruckner

Agnes Bruckner, Zooey Magazine Agnes Bruckner, 27, stars of the new Lifetime biopic, "Anna Nicole." We dig a little deeper into Bruckner's life to gain a bigger insight as to who she is. Now...we're all at the edge of our seats as we await to see Bruckner's new projects, and especially her portrayal as Anna Nicole in her upcoming film.

What I find really interesting is that your parents came from a refugee camp in Italy, just a year before you were born. How much did that impact your parents' ideas on the opportunities that you'd receive today?

My parents wanted to come to America for 'The American Dream.' There are so many more opportunities for people in America. I also love the fact that We have gone back to Europe all throughout my childhood to visit and vacation. I love both cultures and am very fortunate to experience both America and Europe. My father actually has moved back to the states a little over four years ago and it's amazing. Most of my family live near me so its wonderful to spend time with them and also be able to work here. I love my family and they mean the world to me!

Seeing as you've loved entertainment since you were a child, who have you always looked up to in that regards? An actor/actress/family that inspires you to be who you are today?

There are so many people who have inspired me, Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet. Anyone with strength and raw undeniable talent.

You're very close with your family. What do you do when you aren't working?

I love spending time with family and going on adventures! I love the outdoors and sports so I love going to sporting events! Go Broncos! I also love the ocean and the beach! When I'm at home I love nerding out and playing WOW. Yep, I'm also a huge gamer!

Agnes Bruckner, Zooey Magazine

Now, your new film "The Anna Nicole Story" is out this summer. What can you tell us about this movie that would get audiences eager to watch?

We really tried to show people a different more vulnerable side to Anna. I think people will be shocked to see how she grew up and how much her horrible relationship with her family and poor support system really affected her choices in life. And if that doesn't work, my physical transformation (yes, i have prosthetic boobs in the film) will have people eager to watch!

How does it feel to portray someone with such a vivid history?

I loved doing research on Anna and seeing how charismatic and full of life she was especially in front of the camera! She loved to entertain and make people smile and laugh. I had huge shoes to fill. I was really nervous about portraying someone so famous and iconic but we had such an amazing cast and crew of true professionals and I was confident we were going to make an amazing film.

What do you think Anna Nicole's daughter Dannielynn Marshall would think of the movie if she ever saw it in the future? Or what do you think Anna Nicole would have thought?

I hope that if Dannielyn sees the film she sees how beautiful and full of love her mother was. And how much Anna loved her daughter and son.

This new movie seems to differ a lot from your other films. What makes filming this movie different from your past experiences?

This film was definitely something new and different for me as an actor but that's what I loved about it. It was a challenge. Ive never played such an outgoing larger than life character and that was fun and new! I think people will be surprised!

Dannielynn was the face of Guess Kids last year. You were also a child model. Do you approve of her modeling for a brand as big as Guess?

I was a model from the age of 6 to 11. I think if you are surrounded by people who love you and support you but keep you in check, you can do anything in life!

Agnes Bruckner, Zooey Magazine

Are there any other projects you may have coming that, that you can talk to us about?

Yes! I just found out that a film I did called "The Citizen" starring myself, Khaled Nabawy, Cary Elwes and William Atherton got a distribution deal and will be in theaters late this summer!

What actor/actress would you love to work with in the future?

Angelina Jolie, Tom Hardy, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Clive Owen, Johnny Depp, Charlize Theron…..just to name a few.

What kind of projects do you wish to work on? Thrillers...more horrors, etc?

My dream role would be "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider." I would also die if I got to be in the "World Of Warcraft" film. I mean, who doesn't want to play an undead warrior?!

If you could have been cast in a movie (old or modern), what movie would that have been and why?

I would have loved to play Laura Croft in the "Tomb Raider" films. Angelina Jolie was so good though! I also loved Gia with "Angie"...such a dark intense role.

Being as we're about to enter 1/2 of the year so far, what are some things you've accomplished (on your bucket list or New Year's Resolutions) that you can talk to us about?

I can hold myself in plank position for two minutes. I finally went to the LACMA. I reached level 88 with my Undead Hunter character in World Of Warcraft.

You seem to have a love for racing. Where did this passion come from?

I love Formula 1 racing. Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen are my two favorite drivers and I really hope I can wave the checkered flag at a race one day! My father loves F1 and got me hooked. I love the politics of it and I love how dedicated and talented the drivers and teams are. They can change all 4 tires on a car in less than 4 seconds! I mean come on! So cool!

Other thoughts we had and wanted to ponder with you...

Your ideal meal is... Cous Cous with veggies and garlic! I love garlic! Today's consumption of technology is...Awesome Someone you can't get enough of is...My stuffed animal Pickle Best thing about your job...I get to play dress up and do stunts and get paid!
