Just Another Day with Tiffany Hines

Tiffany Hines... Sounds familiar? Maybe you're already a fan? She's been splashed all over your television in recent years, and is most recognizable as Michelle Welton from "Bones." We know, we gave you both John Francis Daley AND Hines all in one week. Hines let us into her home to take over for the day, to photograph Hines in her own clothing and in her own private environment. She is wonderfully talented, sweet, and ever so thrilling to be with. We couldn't get enough of her, and surely we might just drop by on another day too.

Just Another Day with Dayo Okeniyi

You may have recognized Dayo Okeniyi from a certain movie entitled "The Hunger Games" where he can be seen beating other characters in a race for his life. The movie has made about $573 million dollars in over a month in the theatres. If you haven't seen this film, you are surely missing out on the opportunity to see incredible cinematography...that and of course, having your heart beat widely against your chest with every coming scene. We sat down with Dayo, who stars as "Thresh," to get to know a little more about him.

The best part of my job, is just getting a chance to work with people that you admire so much. It’s a really fortunate job. I love my job. Film is such an old media, that there are people who have been doing this for such a long time and are still doing it. And people that grew up admiring the characters that were played on screen and to actually get a chance to meet them and work with them. Working with people like Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland, people who are so awesome at what they do, it’s incredible.

Getting a chance to do something that really touches people. Sometimes you think of film as such a trivial thing. But there are movies that change people’s lives. People leave movie theaters and have completely changed the way they live. If somebody comes to me and says, ‘your movie made me think of something differently’ or ‘I watch your movie whenever I have a bad day,’ I would love that.

One thing on my bucket list is to win an Academy Award. It’s always work related, because I love acting so much. Work with Will Smith. Work with J.J. Abrams. Work with Steven Spielberg. I could go on and on.

My biggest guilty pleasure is Food Network. I watch everything on Food Network. It’s pretty embarrassing, but I love it (and my roommates hate it)! I watch Chopped. I watch Iron Chef and Man vs. Food. I watch everything. It’s kind of bad, but I am proud of it.

The most played song (at the moment) on my iPhone is probably Drake’s “We’ll Be Fine.” I cannot live without my Iphone.

When I have free time, I just like hanging out with friends. I’m old school. I just hang with the boys. We are either playing videogames or hanging out at the bar. Or, we just watch sports all day. Lately, though, I don’t have a lot of free time, not much time to just chill, but when I do, I just like hanging out with friends.

I love rollercoasters. So, if I could plan the perfect day, I would just wake up really early, drive somewhere where they have a ton of roller coasters, and ride roller coasters until I throw up. There’s this place in Indiana called Cedar Point, they have the best rides in the world! I just like doing group events. Like, I would go put-put golfing, hitting balls at the golf range, shooting… I just like fun-filled events.

One thing people don’t know about me is that sleeping is my favorite pastime. I love to sleep. I’m also half Kenyan, and half Nigerian.

The most fun memory I have is traveling with my family. My parents were so adamant that my siblings and I got the chance to travel a lot. When we were young, even though we never had a lot of money, we would go to Europe all the time, or to Central America. Because I grew up in Nigeria, we’d go to Kenya. We’d travel a lot. We didn’t really have money, but we just got the chance to go to places and see stuff that you learn about in school. Those are the best times of my life. I love my family, so those are memories that we look back on years later

My father is my biggest inspiration. His story is amazing. He didn’t own a pair of shoes until he was sixteen years old, that’s just to let you know. And to be where I am today, it’s everything to him. He completely changed his life. He is the complete definition of the “self-made” individual. All he wanted in life was for his family to live a better life than he did.

My obsession right now is Jeremy Lin. I am obsessed with that guy right now. The Lin-sanity situation. And he’s such a humble guy. It’s a classic story, the guy they just called off the bench and he comes in and completely dominates the game. He is my current obsession. I want to be Jeremy Lin. I wasn’t even a Knicks fan, but now I find myself rooting for the Knicks. It’s kind of crazy.

I love...women. Women are the best thing on the planet. I also love shoes.

My pet peeves... I hate hair in the sink. I can’t handle that. Like, if there is hair… eww. I just hate a clogged sick, it’s so gross.

The words that I live by are “your dreams are a preview of life’s coming attractions.” Albert Einstein said that. I live my life by that. I’m a huge believer in that you really can create what you want to create in your life. You are the architect of your life. You shouldn’t live your life like you are an effect of what is happening to you. Rather, you should be affecting what is happening in your life. And that phrase to me really defines that. If you can think it, and wrap your mind around it, you can achieve it. As soon as I started thinking that way, I feel like my life has extremely different. And I live my life by that every day. Like if you want something, just go get it. Period.

“Just Another Day” is presented as a feature of a day in the life of people who we all adore, and is exclusive to Zooey Magazine. These editorials are often shot in the home of the subject (but can be shot at subject's favorite spot), and the subject is pictured wearing his/her own clothing.

Just Another Day with Zoey Deutch

Zooey meets Zoey. Zoey Deutch is the epitome of the adorable “Girl Next Door” type. Cute and quirky, smart and down-to-earth. Not to mention her love for animals. This 17-year-old actress works next to everyone's beloved vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kristoffer Polaha, and Ioan Gruffudd in CW's thriller "Ringer." She stars as the trouble-making daughter Juliet, who happens to rise above her shambles with a big heart and a fighter's personality. Kayla Aldecoa sits down with Zoey in her front lawn to discuss what it is like to be 'Zoey.' And let this be known...her house consists of a wonderful (and famous) family with more than enough animals (fish, horses, dogs, and cats).

I’m a senior in high school. I just finished those awful state tests this morning. I wouldn’t recommend it! For the past two years I have been taking classes online, through this online charter school. I am able to video chat with my teachers and communicate with them, it is really cool. But, yeah, it’s great. I’m in my senior year, I am very excited! I’m having senioritis! Not so bad because I’m graduating a year early, because I skipped a grade in ninth grade, but still.

In the future, future, I would really like to go back to school. Either NYU or USC. I always wanted to go to Yale, but that switched. We’ll see though. School is a priority for me, I really enjoy it. Because I skipped a grade, I’m allowing myself one year to figure it all out before I go back. It will be like I graduated at the right time, with all my friends. I feel like I’m taking college courses in acting, at least, with Ringer. It was always learning something new, kind of like being paid to go to college.

My favorite part about my job is not that it is never boring; it is that it is always exciting. There is always something new to learn. There is always something interesting to get from someone else. Whether it is an actor, or a sound engineer, there is so much to learn and there will never be nothing to learn. There is always something there.

I just wrapped the first season of The Ringer, and this weekend I’m heading to New Orleans to shoot a movie called Beautiful Creatures by Richard LaGravenese. It has crazy, incredible actors! Like Viola Davis, and Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, and Emmy Rossum. It is totally beyond my wildest dreams. I’m so excited!

I don’t have a bucket list. But, I do want to go ballooning! Where you go in a balloon in the air. The one thing holding me back is that you have to go at like four in the morning, and I’m not necessarily a morning person. That would not be fun. But the fact that there is only one thing on my bucket list, and the one thing is ballooning, kind of says something about me. Yup, that’s it. That is pretty much my entire list.

I’m a seventeen year old girl... my guilty pleasure is chocolate! I’m always, all the time, eating chocolate. I eat pretty healthy but then I go all out when it has to do with chocolate. Or French fries. Or salt & vinegar chips. I don’t know why it is fattening and sugary things, but it is. Those are my guilty pleasures. Also, I sometimes really like to watch Basketball Wives. No, not sometimes… I really like it!

When people touch their eyelashes, that is the biggest pet peeve of mine! I feel like they are going to rip their eyelashes off, and it hurts my soul. It makes me cringe worse than when someone scratches a chalkboard. Way worse! Everyone has their thing, mine is just particularly weird.

I am a teenage girl, so my mood swings are intense. One minute I’m in a happy mood and the next minute I’m like crying, and the next I am laughing and petting my dog. So, yeah, I am very mercurial. I’m so hyper. Maybe it’s because I’m the youngest kid. I have an older sister, so maybe that’s what it is. I’m always striving to talk over someone.

One thing people might not know about me is that I am a pescatarian. Everyone always says to me, “No, you aren’t! You were bat mitzvahed.” And I go, “You guys, that’s Presbyterian.” It just means that I do not eat meat, I eat fish. It’s “pes” like “pescado.” My favorite food is sushi, so I get all my protein from that. And I keep it that way, because I like it.

Sometimes I can be a little too honest, and I remember one time my mom said to me, “Honesty without compassion is cruelty.” It always kind of stuck with me. There is also an Einstein quote about cats that I really like. I can’t remember it, but there is that. If you want to Google that, I know it is out there! Einstein really liked cats, and through the transitive property, I really like Einstein.

My family is the most important thing in my life. I could never live without them. You know, initially I was like ‘my iPhone’! But then I rethought it and was like ‘oooh, my family... I’m gonna do that!’ My sister is the most incredible singer/songwriter. She’s also an actress, her name is Maddie Deutch. Her band is called Maddie and the Bad Hats. She is incredible, such an amazing writer and I could never do what she does. It’s really cool to be around people like my mom, and my sister, and my dad that are all always able to do what they love. That is inspiring in itself.

Be sure to catch "Ringer's" finale this Tuesday at 9 PM on the CW! Interviewed by Kayla Aldecoa
