Lady of the Hour: Dreama Walker

Dreama Walker is June in the new show "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" alongside Krysten Ritter and James Van Der Beek. We're stoked.

Apartment 23 “I play a young, naive, and motivated woman named June who moves to New York for the career of her dreams only to find out that the company has gone under and she lost her job, her apartment, and eventually her (unbeknownst to her) cheating fiancé.

During this process, she ends up shacking up with Chloe (Krysten Ritter), an adventurous, spontaneous, gal gone wild who is attempting to rid June of her old lady tendencies and behaviors. The show follows these completely opposite characters (James Van Der Beek) and their escapades trying to survive and thrive in New York City.”

Krysten Ritter and James Van Der Beek “We are having a blast. The show has been all about fun. They both have wonderful senses of humor and are very talented actors.”

Taking the Lead “This is a lot more work! But, I’m loving it! It feels fantastic to have a character that evolves ever so slightly in each episode.”

Prior to This Show “I really enjoyed playing Becca on The Good Wife. I loved that the writers really gave her a complexity not found in most roles for teenage girls. She was conniving, intelligent and somehow still kind of relatable. I also love playing June - she is quirky, sensitive and good natured but she is self respecting and will not be trampled on. I relate to both characters some days!”

Love for Apartment 23 “I think my favorite thing is that we are part of the ‘girls can be funny, too!’ revolution that is happening now. More than ever, females are killing it in comedy. And why shouldn’t we?”

Not Being the B---- “My Dad is thrilled that I’m not the B----! [My parents] are very proud.”

Mega Bitch vs. the Girl Next Door “I like to switch it up. For the majority of my career, I’ve played a brat. I think every woman kind of has all sides to her.”

Celebrity Crush “Oh, geez. Who doesn’t think Ryan Gosling is amazing?”

Dreama’s Dream Role “There are so many! I would love to play a bad ass, but that’s hilarious to anyone that knows me well because I can only take myself seriously for about three minutes.”

The Quirks “I get a real kick out of dressing my dogs up in silly costumes. I know, I know, it seems very ‘Elle Woods’ but it always makes people smile. And the dogs only hate it for a few minutes!”

Colors that pop Words full of glee Is the future as bright as it used to be?

Eddie Chacon shoots this feature with the idea of optimism in mind. "For this shoot I was inspired by pop-art era fashion with bright colors, mixed prints and an optimistic outlook toward the future. I used cheerful props to represent catch phrases for happy, positive thinking."
