Rissa Sandman is one of our favorite makers from California. Her artistry in ceramics, specifically coasters, makes her one of the unique makers today.
She started her company theCoastal Coasters in 2013, after a coffee table incident. "In order to protect and use [my coffee table] as they were intended, I needed functional, stylish coasters - something I had long struggled to find. By hand painting each individual coaster with my unique designs, I hope to share my love of handmade, and inspire public interest to choose hand crafted items over manufactured goods."
