We reached white sands a couple of hours before sunset and upon arrival, realized we were caught in another 30+ mph windstorm. We got out of the car so pumped up and excited about it, ran up the dunes, realized the sand felt like tiny razor blades and ran back down to empty our clothes and eyes of the sand they had quickly accrued. After we gave each other some pep talks, we decided to say screw it and proceeded to run around white sands like two idiots in love. When you're running through sand, to gain speed for your sand sled, with sand and wind coming at you at 30mph, it's hard to be graceful. In the end, I'm so glad that we didn't let the wind bother us. Leaving the park, neither of us could stop smiling.
Our last stop of the trip was Marfa. So see tomorrow for the end of our so-far-wonderful road trip!
